Precision Grommets
allows for a wide variety of cables, hoses, wire, switches
and other materials to pass safely through bulkheads, firewalls
or other structures without the worry of chafing or abrasion.
Unique to the design of Precision Grommets is the recessed
O-Ring seal in the Hex-Nut. For marine applications or applications
that require a leak proof connection there is an alternate
design that provides an additional O-Ring seal behind the
flange. The positive seal produced from the locking action
of the O-Rings eliminates vibration and water passage. With
a variety of sizes and materials, including Delrin for nonconducting
applications, Precision-Grommets provides flexible solutions
for a variety of applications.

The
Standard Precision Grommet is machined from 6061 aluminum
but is also available in other materials such as brass, Delrin,
and 303 stainless steel on request. Precision Grommets come
in bore sizes from 1/4" to 1 1/4" in 1/16"
increments. The nut on a Precision Grommet is relieved for
an
O-Ring which prevents it from vibrating loose without being
tightened with excessive force.

The Marine Precision
Grommet is similar to the Standard Precision Grommet
but has a larger flange to accommodate the O-ring located
behind the flange for a water tight seal. The nut also has
a recessed O-Ring that provides the strong locking action.
The short marine grommet works well on aluminum boats as no
welding is required. The M1 Marine Precision Grommet has a
1/2" pipe thread and comes with 2 Delrin plugs. The M2
and M3 are 1" and 1 1/4" respectively and will accommodate
the
T-handle Drain Plug or the Flip-lock Drain Plug. A longer,
threaded grommet can be used on fiberglass boats where the
transom is thicker.
The Ferrule Precision
Grommets are used for a variety of applications. They
enhance a dash board when used with an ignition switch or
other dash mounted accessory. Other applications could include
stereo cables and fish finder wire.
